Denise Araouzou Cyprus

Denise Araouzou is a curator, researcher, and writer. She is currently developing a research project titled “Systems, Pedagogies and Practices for Learning on a Damaged Planet”, supported by the Kone Foundation. In 2021, she served as junior curator for Mediterranea 19: Biennale of Young Artists – School of Waters (BJCEM, San Marino). She is also a board member and secretary of the Visual Artists and Art Theorists Association – Phytorio (2024–2026).

Araouzou has curated a wide range of projects, including Kyriaki Costa: Head & Hand: Without Detriment To (Municipal Gardens, Nicosia, 2025), Eleni Odysseos: An Elegy for Coming Undone (Koraï Project Space, Nicosia, 2023), and Multispecies Commoning, When Things Are Alive (Hägerstensåsens Medborgarhus, Stockholm, 2022). She has also developed numerous projects with The Island Club and Lemesos International Documentary Festival, including The Sun Panics (2019), One Minute, One Hour, One Month, One Million Years (2019), Sofronis Sofroniou: Magnetic Bible (2018), Snow White was stopped at the Gates of Disneyland (2018), and Apostolos Georgiou: A Painting on Separation (2018). Other notable projects include Adrian Melis: Absolute Silence Does Not Exist at Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, León (2017).
