Yara Sonseca Mas Madrid

Yara Sonseca Mas is an art historian and curator. She worked at Fundación Mapfre in Madrid between 2001 and 2004, and from 2006 to 2015 she ran the exhibitions department at La Casa Encendida, where she commissioned exhibitions, site-specific projects, and new productions for emerging artists, where also edited publications on Antonin Artaud, John Cage, Louise Bourgeois, Arthur Rimbaud, Joseph Kosuth, Andy Warhol, among other artists.

Sonseca Mas has co-curated the exhibition Beckett Films (2011: CAAC, Seville) and curated several retrospectives, notably for José Antonio Suárez Londoño and Amie Siegel (2015–2017: CAPC Bordeaux, MAMM Medellín, Villa Stuck München). She also curated the research project Nicolás Combarro. Aufzeichnungen aus dem Untergrund (2021: Maximiliansforum, NS-Dokumentationszentrum, Pavillon des Architekturmuseums an der Pinakothek der Moderne, München) and presented the site-specific exhibition Julius Heinemann, Pueblo Potemkin (2022: Centro Cultural Condeduque, Madrid).
